How DollScout works — and how we're paid

Because "trusted vendor" lists in this industry are usually pay-to-play, here is our entire model, in the open.

The problem we exist to fix

The adult doll market has a broken trust layer. Counterfeit shops sell knock-offs with stolen factory photos. Review platforms are contaminated by paid reviews and review extortion. Forum "approved vendor" lists are funded by the vendors they approve. Affiliate blogs rank whoever pays the highest commission. Buyers spending $1,000–$3,500 are left guessing.

DollScout's answer: publish the vetting criteria, apply them in public, disclose the money, and include criticism of vendors we recommend.

How we make money (the whole model)

  • When you buy through our links, the vendor pays us a referral commission. It never costs you extra.
  • Current affiliate relationships: yourdoll.com; Amazon Associates (pending activation for accessory picks).
  • What we don't do: paid placements, sponsored "reviews," selling your email, or letting a commission rate influence a recommendation. A vendor that fails vetting stays failed at any commission.

The 10 vetting criteria

A vendor must pass every one of these — the same checklist we give you for free in the Scam-Check:

  1. Realistic pricing consistent with factory list prices (no fake mega-discounts).
  2. Verifiable brand authorization from named factories (WM, Irontech, Zelex, Starpery…).
  3. Factory-photo policy: photos of your specific doll before dispatch, shipped only on your approval.
  4. Buyer-protected payment: PayPal and/or major credit cards.
  5. Organic review pattern, including resolved complaints — not a wall of invited 5-stars.
  6. Real contact surface: address, responsive support, coherent answers.
  7. Honest lead times for made-to-order dolls.
  8. Authentic imagery matching official factory catalogs.
  9. Written policies for shipping, customs, cancellation and defects.
  10. Established domain with operating history.

What we will never list

We exclusively feature products depicting adults. We refuse to review, link to, or accept commissions on any product with a childlike appearance, we drop any vendor that stocks one, and we report them. This is non-negotiable and overrides every commercial consideration.

Honesty about our current limits

  • We're new, and our vetted list is short on purpose. We'd rather recommend one vendor we've actually checked than rank twelve we haven't.
  • Vendor vetting is point-in-time; vendors can degrade. If you have a recent experience — good or bad — with a vendor we list, email us. Buyer reports are how the list stays honest.
  • Product images on this site are placeholders until licensed imagery is in place. We will never present factory marketing photos as photos of delivered products.

Corrections
